I’m baaaaaa-aaaaaaack

Well, I’ve been part of the Smug Married Club for one year now, and I’ve just realised my smugness has diverted me from my blog for that entire time! Where are my priorities?? It’s OK, I’ve remembered how much knitting matters and how incidental husbands are (jokes, jokes). Knitting remains my #1 love.

I have been knitting other people’s patterns during this time to my ongoing delight, but I think it is just about time to get back to designing. But not until I have finished current projects, which are numerous. There’s a yarn sale on a Morris and Sons, what can I tell you? It’s not my fault. It’s an addiction.

Currently on the needles, Mulberry Cable Beret, which I came across of Ravelry when searching for a cable beret pattern. It looks like pie. I like pie. What’s not to like? I have a hand dyed wool I picked up in the Blue Mountains on a holiday a few months ago. It’s purple and pink and I figured rather than continuing to cuddle it in skein form, it could instead cuddle my head. When winter comes, I guess. In five and a half months time. Hmmmm. Good plan.

Also, have bought enough yarn for six pairs of felted slippers, it’s just a really adorable pattern and a girl needs options. Can’t immediately remember the name of the pattern but there’s a feature button. That should really help in the pattern search, except that it doesn’t at all. So I’ll get back to you on that one.

Also, I really wanted to make a nice lavender cardigan for work – don’t you find cardigans are compulsory in offices? Jackets are too hot, bare arms too cold? – and after much browing of the infinite options I decided on The Ballet Wrap by Norah Gaughan. Now I don’t know if I love it more because it’s beautiful or because it’s a Norah. I love Norah. She’s intensly epic. So epic. Very very epic. She and all she does. There’s surely some kind of fan club/support group I can join for the Norah love. So I have ordered my yarn for the but it is yet to arrive, however it is being saved up for Christmas so I’ll have to out it safely aside when it comes anyway, *tear*.

Anyhoo, nice to be back. Catch you on the flip side, kiddies.
